Our favorite punk comrades, SWMRS, have just released their new music video “Lose Lose Lose” off of their sophomore album Berkely’s On Fire that came out earlier this year.
The video directed by Ambar Navarro shows the band performing a show at an older folks bingo game. In the video the group performs with the same amount of relentless energy they have when they play a live show for fans. You’ll find the singer, Cole Becker, moving all across the stage and engaging the “audience” with no real feedback from them.
Becker commented about the thought process in making the video, “Being a young person in 2019 feels a lot more like being in an inhospitable bingo club than being in the hyper idealized vision of a punk show. You have all this energy and vision and passion to contribute to the world, and you’re constantly met with this sludgy rejection as if you’re intruding on someone else’s party.”
After finishing their world tour and donating over $20K from ticket sales to organizations they are passionate about in their SWMRS Fund the band proceeded to support Muse and Weezer on their tours. Later this week SWMRS will support Bring Me The Horizon on their stadium dates followed by appearing at the X Games in Minneapolis, MN, before returning to the UK for the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
These guys aren’t stopping anytime soon! They are reviving the music scene with a fresh punk sound, positive vibes, and uninterrupted energy level. Be sure to check out their live set the next time they come to a city near you! In the mean time, enjoy this new music video for their latest single, “Lose Lose Lose”!
